Running

“Running” (2022) is similar to another Jorge Blanco work, “Running Wild.” His moon-faced figures, two seen and a third apparently ahead of them (with only their foot visible) are racing along. Blanco’s appreciation for sport, exercise, and activity is a recurring theme in his pieces, as is his wonderfully minimalist use of color. Even in a darker piece such as this, his brilliant juxtapositioning of bright pops of color in between the running figures creates specific viewpoints and focal areas Blanco wishes to draw our attention to, and a natural plane that attracts our eye.
